Our journey began on the dating app, Hinge. It was February 1, 2022, when we matched, and Alex broke the ice with the infamous pick-up line: "Are you running for office? Cause you're a candidate I plan to date!" Taylor found it cheesy, but Alex's charm and cuteness won her over, prompting her to message back.

We were so eager to meet in person that we arranged our first date the very next day, on February 2, 2022, at Hook and Lime. That night, we talked for hours, sharing stories and laughter. The connection was undeniable, and we couldn’t wait to see each other again. We agreed to meet the next day, and the day after that... and, well, the rest is history.

From the beginning, we bonded over our shared interests in politics and yoga, finding common ground in our passions and values.

One of our most memorable moments was when Alex found out that Taylor had never seen any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Taylor, always creative and thoughtful, designed an adorable calendar featuring Marvel characters. We then embarked on an epic 126-hour MCU marathon.

Our love for Marvel didn't stop there. We entered a Marvel Trivia Challenge at Edge of the Universe, where our combined knowledge and teamwork led us to victory. It was a moment of triumph that solidified our bond and showed us just how well we complemented each other.

Through these shared experiences and countless others, we realized how much we enjoyed each other's company. Alex knew he could spend every minute of every day with Taylor, and Taylor, after Alex shared his pizza crust with her, knew he could be the one. Each moment, big or small, has brought us closer together and made us fall even more in love.

Our proposal story begins with a daring suggestion from Taylor after we had only known each other for three months. She proposed a trip to Cancun to see if Alex was up for an adventure. Little did she know, he was up for it and then some. In September, we flew to Cancun to spend six days and five nights at the luxurious Live Aqua resort.

Before the trip, Alex had asked his mother for her engagement ring, planning to propose during their stay. The first night, the plan was potentially spoiled by a text she noticed on his phone stating, "Good luck, buddy!" She spent the rest of the trip wondering at every opportunity, "Is it happening?"

Alex, suspecting that Taylor knew what was coming, decided to wait until the very last moment. He also wanted to avoid making a public scene, knowing Taylor's preference for more intimate moments. On the final day of our trip, as the sun rose, Alex seized the perfect moment. Having sprung for a balcony suite, he followed Taylor outside and, with the breathtaking sunrise as their backdrop, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes (obviously)!

Our story is just getting started and we are so excited to celebrate our love with you on our wedding day, Saturday, September 21st!

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM Central, setting the stage for a beautiful evening. Following the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour where you can mingle, enjoy drinks from our open bar, and soak in the joyous atmosphere.

After the cocktail hour, dinner and dancing will begin, promising an evening filled with delicious food and lively music. Dinner will be provided by Abraham Catering, and we will have a selection of gourmet cupcakes from our favorite local bakery for you to indulge in, ensuring a sweet treat for everyone.

For some added fun, we'll have a photo booth available so you can capture fun memories to share with the happy couple.
